Live oaks are beautiful trees. But when they start spreading low over your driveway, out toward the street, and into the utility lines running along your property - that's when beauty becomes a hazard. That's exactly what we were working with here.
The canopy on this tree had grown thick and heavy, with branches pushing too close to the power lines and dropping low enough to be a real problem. Left alone, that's a situation that gets worse fast. One strong wind event and you're looking at downed lines, property damage, or worse.
What we focus on with a job like this is balance. We're not here to butcher a tree - we're here to give it a proper trim that clears the hazards without wrecking the structure. The before and after tells the story clearly. The canopy is opened up, the lower limbs are pulled back, and the lines have breathing room. The tree still looks like a tree, not a hack job.
That's the difference between experienced tree trimming and just cutting stuff down. Knowing where to make the cut, how much to take, and how to keep the tree healthy long-term - that's the skill. Live oaks especially need that kind of care. They're hardy trees, but they don't respond well to being stripped carelessly.
If you've got an oak or any other tree that's creeping toward your power lines, roofline, or street - don't wait for a storm to make the decision for you. Getting it handled right the first time is always the better call.
